Let’s start by back tracking to events taken place last month. The rummage sale was a bit disappointing, we had fewer items to sell and less tables than last year. Because of the limited success we will not have a sale every year. We will possibly have a sale in 2025.
The Fish Fry that was held on June 16th was exceptional. We had 53 dinners served! Big thank you to Chris and Doug, who chaired the event and Patti for their hard work and great preparation. Also, thank you Sandy for bartending!
Let’s move on to the results of this month’s event Taco Night, July 14th. We had 33 meals served, you had your choice of soft or hard shell taco’s. Meals were prepared with meat and cheese, refried beans, Spanish rice, salsa, taco sauce, sour cream, peppers, onions and black olives. Many people provided a variety of deserts, thank you too all. Special thank you to Mike and Nancy Specht for chairing the event along with Trista Specht & Evan for meal assembly. Also please note all the food was donated by Mike and Nancy Specht!
As always, the results of all events are in the event log at the club for all to see.
Our next planned event will be the Pork Chop dinner, August 12th, yes that is a Saturday! We have ordered 50 Pork Chops for this event. The pricing will be $12.00 for one chop and $16 for two. Diner will include sweet corn on the cob, pasta salad and desert. Please sign up at the club to reserve your spot, the chops are great and will fill up fast! The club will be open both Friday and Saturday this week.
In case anyone out there needs to know, the Club is open every Friday from 4:00 PM until closing. The Club is open to the public and anyone and everyone is welcome! Also, if anyone has an idea for something to plan on any given Friday please let me know. Mike Repinski 715-612-0288 or devinsgramps@gmail.com.
A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse. “But why?” they asked, as they moved off. “because,” he said “I can’t stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.”
Also be sure to look at the Events Calendar!
